Michael Raff

Michael is an award-winning and dedicated attorney with over a decade of experience focusing on tax controversy, compliance and planning. Michael vigorously advocates for clients through all levels of the IRS (Exam, Appeals, US Tax Court) as well as the Illinois Department of Revenue (Audit, Fast Track Resolution, Tax Tribunal). Michael has also litigated and settled tax matters against the Department of Justice. 

Michael has been selected to the 2018, 2019, 2020, 2021 and 2022 Illinois Rising Stars List as a Top-Rated Tax Attorney and is currently serving as the Vice Chair of the Illinois State Bar Association Federal Tax Committee.

Michael attended law school at the Chicago-Kent College of Law and is currently pursuing his LL.M. in taxation from Georgetown University.  Prior to law school, Michael graduated from the University of Illinois with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology. 

When not practicing law, Michael enjoys spending time with his wife and two daughters around the Chicagoland area. Michael hopes to pass on his love of sports to his children, and recently managed his oldest daughter’s baseball team to the 2022 championship and supported his youngest daughter’s ambition as a tap, jazz and ballet star!
