Sam Lemon

Senior Associate Attorney

Sam Lemon is a Senior Attorney at Brotman Law, and as such, he is responsible for supervising cases for attorneys, paralegals and other staff. He works cases projected to run several thousand to several million dollars. Sam provides his personal attention to clients from inception to completion. Sam also defends client assets with government agencies and regulatory bodies on audits and collection cases. On eligible cases, this may entail setting up a payment plan, convincing the agency of a client’s non-collectible status, or compromising the client’s tax liability, among other offers.

Sam holds a Juris Doctor from the University of San Diego and is licensed with the State Bar of California to practice law, having served as a member of its Tax section. Sam is also a certified public accountant (inactive), licensed with the State Board of Accountancy.

Sam is passionate about winning and considers himself very competitive in the way he does his job. He is strongly committed to representing companies in righting the abuse of government overreach. He prides himself on his role in educating government employees when they overstep, using every available legal method possible. In his years of practice as a tax attorney, Sam has cost the government tens of millions of dollars on behalf of his clients. He is reliable and assertive in all his cases until he achieves the desired goal.

Prior to joining the firm, Sam worked as a CPA at a large, national accounting practice and at a smaller accounting firm and as a sole practitioner, prior to attending law school.

Born in Washington, D.C., Sam was raised in San Diego where he was active in the Boy Scouts. As a former Eagle Scout, Sam now works with the Boy Scouts of America as a Merit Badge Counselor and leads qualification requirements for merit badges required for the Eagle Scout Award.
