A graduate of the Wabash College in Indiana and later the St. Catherine's College at Oxford University, where he received a "highest honors" standing, Sam Brotman began his career in law at the prestigious New York City law firm Covington & Burling LLP. He would later go on to earn a Juris Doctorate (J.D.) degree and a Master of Laws, Taxation (LL.M.) from the University of San Diego followed by an MBA degree from San Diego State University.

Mitchell Smith
With a Juris Doctorate (J.D.) degree from the California Western School of Law and a Master of Laws in Taxation (LLM) from the University of San Diego School of Law, Smith has over six years of experience working in tax law. He has represented clients in the U.S. Tax Court, obtaining favorable outcomes for them at the audit and appellate levels of the IRS. During the course of his career, Smith has also won favorable settlements of high-dollar-tax deficiencies and helped secure tax-exempt status for new organizations in the state of California.
Sahar Bijan
An associate attorney at Brotman Law, Sahar Bijan graduated with a J.D. from the University of San Diego School of Law and also obtained a Master of Laws in taxation. She's passionate about fighting for people and being a voice for them if they ever needed one. She chose to practice tax law because of her love for numbers.
Carlos Gomez
Carlos Gomez finished his J.D. at the California Western School of Law, graduating Magna Cum Laude. Interning for the Honorable Karen S. Crawford, United States Magistrate Judge, U.S. District Court, Southern District of California, made a significant contribution to his legal experience. Chase Canevari
Chase Canevari joined Brotman Law in December 2020. He obtained a J.D. from the University of San Diego School of Law. His interest in tax litigation developed soon after his studies as he found this particular branch of law to be very straightforward and contain fewer gray areas. He has helped our clients limit their tax liabilities, mitigate situations involving tax issues, and to subsequently find financial security.
Lindsay Pyfrom
Having previously worked at H&R Block as a Lead Tax Research Specialist and as a QA Analyst, Pyfrom joined the team at Brotman Law as an associate attorney.
